Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård (IPA: [ˈskɑːʂgoːɖ]; born August 25, 1976, in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish actor and director. He is the son of My Guenther, a doctor, and Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård, and a brother to Gustaf Skarsgård
Skarsgård has acted in several Swedish TV series and movies. In 2003 he was nominated for a Guldbagge for male supporting role in the movie Hundtricket - The movie.
Since 2005, with his performances in Revelations and The Last Drop he has taken part in international productions. In 2007 he played one of the main characters in the American miniseries Generation Kill.
As of 2008, he is currently a part of the ensemble cast of HBO's True Blood, a TV series from Six Feet Under creator, Alan Ball. Skarsgård plays the Role of Eric, a 1000 year old Viking vampire, and owner of "Fangtasia" - the fictional vampire bar in Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse Vampire Series. As of October 2008, True Blood has been picked up for a second season.
