Matthew McConaughey: from rom-com prince to psychos and strippers

Matthew was once a Hollywood golden boy, the next big thing. He received a hot Vanity Fair cover--not always a good sign--sometimes that honor is like winning an Oscar
too early. He never quite lived up to the initial promise. In recent years he has become a poster boy for a certain kind of cheerful narcissism/exhibitionism. All that running around shirtless. And there was the laid back naked bongo-playing and pot smoking. It was amusing, but where was this actor going? He sure wasn't getting any younger. With the weekend release of "Magic Mike" now we know.

   

Yes, this is Channing Tatum's baby, loosely based on his brief teenage career as a stripper. And Mr. Tatum is very good--he seems to relax more with each movie. The movie itself, directed by Steven Soderbergh, is neither the cheesy flesh-bazaar so many were hoping for-- though there's plenty of flesh! Nor is it as satisfactorily dark as others expected. The two sides of the movie-- both appealing-- don't always mesh. (Stripper movies never quite get it right, except for the last 25 minutes of "Gypsy.")

But Matthew, as the owner of the strip club, who still keeps a six-pack on hand just to show the youngsters how it's done, is the real winner of "Magic Mike." He's a great big smirking, self-aware, funny, version of the glossy magazine creature he has become. He's more spray-tanned, more cocky, and definitively more stoned than he has ever been in public, but it comes across like an effortless non-performance, just a day in the life. And he also looks like he's having a ball on screen.

"Magic Mike" looks great, the dance scenes are sensational. The other young men who take it off--Matt Bomer, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello are all excellent. There's convincing work from some of the ladies, too, including Olivia Munn. But the movie belongs to Matthew McConaughey. With the right scripts, he can ease right into middle age more appealing and certainly more interesting than when he was the perpetually perspiring lawyer in 1996's "A Time To Kill." And as the deleted Stephen Sondheim song from Follies goes, "Can That Boy Fox Trot!"

Luke Mitchell, Would you love him as your Neighbour, whether Home or Away ?

Luke Mitchell (born 17 April 1985) is an Australian actor and model.

Mitchell trained at the Film and Television Studio International and worked with professionals such as Joss McWilliam, Iain Gardner, Kim Krejus, Craig McMahon and Dean Carey. He traveled around Australia with international entertainment company Sudden Impact Entertainment and worked in their live theatre shows.

Whilst working in Melbourne he successfully auditioned for the guest-role of Chris Knight in Neighbours and appeared in 11 episodes. He then moved back to the Gold Coast to play the part of Will Benjamin in H2O: Just Add Water.

In 2008, Mitchell filmed the gay-themed romance Performance Anxiety, which was selected as part of the 9th Annual Brisbane Queer Film Festival as a screening for cast and crew.

In June 2009, Mitchell relocated to Sydney and, As of 2010, he is starring as Romeo Smith in Home and Away. Mitchell won his first acting award, a 2010 TV Week Logie for Most Popular New Male Talent, for his role on Home and Away.

Kurtis Stacey, Hot new Emmerdal bad boy?

Kurtis plays a gorgeous new farm hand coming to the Dales that is going to get the ladies hot and bothered.

Alex Ross gets a job working at Butlers Farm after being recommended to John Barton by worker Andy Sugden after John's son Adam quits.

Alex, played by Kurtis Stacey, is hard worker but a bit of a player. He catches the eye of John's daughter Hannah Barton, Amy Wyatt and Victoria Sugden to name but a few.

This is Kurtis' first major TV role after appearing briefly in Waterloo Road, Hollyoaks and Crimewatch for Impact Casting.

He has made many stage appearances as well as parts in two short films.

Matt Barr, Hellcats Rarrrrr!

Matthew Jerome "Matt" Barr (born February 14, 1984) is an American television and film actor. He is best known for his roles as Mike Fleming in Commander in Chief, Ian Banks in One Tree Hill, Christopher Sullivan in the mystery horror series Harper's Island, and Dan Patch in The CW series Hellcats.

Some of Barr's roles include playing Ian Banks, Peyton Sawyer's (played by Hilarie Burton) stalker on One Tree Hill. Barr has also portrayed guest and recurring roles on popular television series ER, Bones, The O.C. and Commander in Chief. He starred in Saving the King as the King's brother.

Barr appeared in the 2008 film The House Bunny as Tyler, one of the university's students.

He portrayed David "Puck" Rainey, one of the alumni of The Real World: San Francisco, in Pedro, Nick Oceano's 2008 biographical film on the life of AIDS educator Pedro Zamora. Barr recent starred on mystery horror series Harper's Island as Christopher Sullivan. In between 2009 and 2010 he guest starred in American hit series such as Castle, Trauma, Friday Night Lights, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2010, he joined the CW series Hellcats as Dan.

Barr was set to portray Keith van der Woodsen in the Gossip Girl spin-off Valley Girls, but its backdoor pilot during season 2 of Gossip Girl did not perform as successfully as producers had hoped, leading to the show's cancellation. It has been rumored that the show will instead become a 90-minute TV movie, set to air on the CW some time between the season 3 finale and the season 4 premiere of Gossip Girl, but as this has not been officially announced, it is unknown whether Barr will appear or not.

In 2010, Matt was cast as a series regular in the CW series Hellcats, playing Dan Patch. The series premiered on September 8, 2010.

Rob Norbury, Sexy Model and Hot Actor

Riley is the golden boy of the Costello family. He's a football hopeful, and feels pressure to live up to his Dad's legacy. Riley's been a supportive figure to his younger siblings Seth and Jason throughout their own trials of youth.

Taylor Handley, Cute actor!

Taylor Laurence Handley (born June 1, 1984) is an American actor.

In 1998, Taylor played Rory Buck in the movie Jack Frost. In 2000, Handley starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Phantom of the Megaplex. Handley appeared in three episodes during the last season of Dawson's Creek and guest starred during an episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". In 2003/2004, Handley appeared in six episodes of the first season of The O.C., as Oliver Trask, a mentally unstable teenager who, after meeting Marissa Cooper in a therapy clinic, becomes infatuated with her to the point of nearly committing suicide over her.

In 2006, Handley appeared in three fims: The Standard, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and Zerophilia. Handley's next film, September Dawn, was released to theaters on August 24, 2007.

In 2007, Handley starred as Johnny Miller in the short-lived CW television program, Hidden Palms.

On April 9, 2009, he guest starred in the pilot of Southland, playing the character Wade. He returned as Wade in the second episode of the second season.

More recently he appeared in the 2011 film Battle: Los Angeles

'Diaries' star excited about season end

Ian Somerhalder has revealed that he is excited about the final episodes of The Vampire Diaries' second season.

Speaking to MTV, Somerhalder claimed that he has no idea what will happen as the season comes to a close.

"I'm just curious as to what the hell's going to happen," he said. "I'm excited to see.

"Season one was such a great journey and it took us all for a ride. I'm excited to see what happens. I'm excited to see because it's not as if you read a film and you have the script and there's a definite answer. We don't know."

Somerhalder also revealed his dream scenario for the season finale, saying: "What I would like to see is Damon kidnap Elena and then go to the Caribbean. Go to Paris first and then [the other characters] go looking for her and then they disappear to the Caribbean for a season or something, while everyone frantically searches for them."

The Vampire Diaries returns for a new episode on April 7 at 8/7c on The CW.

Eddie Cibrian grabs 'Playboy' pilot lead, changed from the original actor cast.

Eddie Cibrian has signed on to take the lead role in the upcoming NBC drama pilot Playboy.

The casting change comes just days after Jeff Hephner was announced for the part.

A source told TVLine that the decision was made by series executives following a table read whereupon Hephner was deemed "not a good fit" and was replaced by former CSI: Miami actor Cibrian.

Production on Playboy, which centres on mob-connected attorney Nick Dalton, is due to begin filming next Tuesday in Chicago.

David Jones-Roberts, Home and Away hottie!

David Jones-Roberts (born 9 April 1990) is an Australian actor, best known for portraying Xavier Austin in the long running TV series Home and Away, since late 2008.

Davids' father, Danny Roberts, is an actor who played Andy Green on Sons and Daughters and Jim Eagan on Underbelly 3, and his mother, actress Lindsay Neil worked with Benny Hill, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett.

David graduated from the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts.

In his spare time, David is a bit of a sports fan and loves swimming, playing football and doing gymnastics.

'V' star Scott Wolf teases Chad fate

Scott Wolf has hinted that his character will survive the second season finale of V.   Executive producer Scott Rosenbaum previous revealed that two or "possibly even three" regular characters will be killed off in the finale.

Wolf, who plays unscrupulous journalist Chad Decker, told IGN: "Several of our key characters, including Chad... are in very fatalistic circumstances. Sort of doomsday circumstances. Some of those characters who are in these circumstances survive and some don't."

However, the actor added that he believes Decker has "a bit of a 'get out of jail free' card".

"He's the most vulnerable but in some ways he's the also the least," he claimed. "Because I think it would be very difficult to extinguish him without some explanation."

Wolf continued: "He has this platform [on television] where all these people watch him, and I think he's smart enough to know that the key to his survival is being necessary to Anna in some way."    The second season of V will conclude on March 15.

Chris Lowell, “Private Practice”

Christopher "Chris" Lowell (born October 17, 1984) is an American television actor.

He played the role of Stosh "Piz" Piznarski in the CW noir drama Veronica Mars and most recently played the character William "Dell" Parker in the ABC Grey's Anatomy spin-off, Private Practice.

Lowell is vocalist and harmonicist for the indie acoustic band Two Shots for Poe.

He also appeared in BriTANicK's YouTube videos 'Pillow Talk' and 'The Morning After'.
