Tom Welling / Smallville

It seems that Smallville and Tom Welling have been in the Entertainment news for a while now, what with the departure of Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum), and with Tom Welling’s contract being up, and no confirmation of whether he will renew it.

tom_welling_06

Also with Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) leaving the show, that’s two big cast members that are leaving or left, can the show carry on ?

tom_welling

With the introduction of new villians it has potential, but we shall see where it goes.

Tom_Welling (1)

I must admit I used to love watching Smallville but haven’t watched it regurlary since Season 5 so I don’t really get it anymore, I have considered buying all the DVD box set’s and then catching up.

Christian Cooke

Christian, 22, plays Luke Rutherford, the last in the bloodline of the infamous Van Helsing family from Dracula, in the ITV show Demons, with the first episode broadcast on Saturday, January 3.

It has a stellar cast, including Life on Mars stalwart Philip Glenister, and Mackenzie Crook, from The Office on the small screen and Pirates of the Caribbean on the big.

Former St Mary’s School, Menston pupil and Bingley Arts Centre regular Christian, who also appeared in Peter Pan at the Alhambra as a youngster, said: “I play Luke Rutherford. The mystery surrounding his father’s death is uncovered and he just has to accept his destiny and become a demon hunter.”

christian cooke2

Christian was most recently on TV in the spoof-ish ITV soap Echo Beach, and began his acting career on the screen aged ten when he appeared in Yorkshire Sunday night feel-good drama Where The Heart Is.

But Demons looks set to propel Christian to the big time. Christian said: “The whole cast is really talented. Mackenzie was such a nice guy.”

Phil Glenister plays an American called Rupert Galvin who tracks down his godson Luke in contemporary London to tell him of his ancestry, which is all tied up in the Dracula myth.

Mackenzie Crook – complete with a crooked beak as the villainous vampire Gladiolus Thrip – leads a rabble of unsavoury characters.

After Echo Beach and parts in shows like Robin Hood and Doctor Who, Demons marks Christian’s first lead role. He said: “This has certainly been the most challenging for me because we worked 74 days straight without a break and 15 hours a day and I was in nearly every scene, so it’s really difficult. But that’s how I like it, if I could work like that on every job I would.”

This is 18 years in the making - we finally get to see the X-Men fan favorite superhero Gambit in flesh and blood on the big screen. Gambit first appeared in the comics in Uncanny X-Men #266 in 1990 but has been missing from TV shows and movies since then. Zac Efron

Zac Efron is said to be looking for a mid-seven-figure salary and script approval before signing a contract with the filmmakers.

Zac-Efron-hsm01

"There's a lot of wrong ways to do this movie," the Daily Telegraph quoted Efron as telling Variety magazine.    "It's a matter of finding the right balance. Until we find it, I can't fully ..." he paused trying to find a word.    "... I can't finish that sentence," he said abruptly.    As the conversation moved on to the next topic, he finally finds the word.    "Commit. Until I fully commit," he stated.

zac_efron_2

Even though Efron at times may say what he wants, he somehow seems to catch himself and revert back to his script. But Ortega is confident that the actor will do very well with the new role.

049highschool3_468x467

"Its like life imitating the movies - suddenly (the cast) has come of age as young people. The light of the future is shining brightly into their eyes, begging them to make decisions that will impact on the rest of their lives," Ortega said.

zac_efron (1)

"I see the characters and the actors as having arrived in the same place at the same time.

"But I have great confidence in them, their families and the teams they have around them, that they're going to make good choices. They are all wise beyond their years. They have a sense of humour. They're sensible, humbled by the attention. They're going to do good," he added.

Shia Labeouf

Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf’s dented truck, recked by the actor himself in a horrific accident, has gone up for auction on eBay.

According to celebrity web site TMZ, bidding for the fabulously wrecked Ford, will begin at 7,000 dollars and the auction will be available for public viewing.

Christian Bale

The Dark Knight, Christian Bale’s second Batman film, opened in late July 2008, with an absolutely enormous buzz leading up to it, in part because of the tragic death of Heath Ledger, whose spin as the Joker received Oscar talk, even from his fellow actors in the film. The film broke box-office records left and right.

Christian Bale was also nominated for askmen's Top 49 Men of 2008.

ChristianBale1

Jeremy Sumpter

Jeremy Sumpter plays J.D. McCoy on "Friday Night Lights" which will began airing on DirecTV on October 1, followed by airings on NBC in February 2009.

jeremy_sumpter

After a worldwide search, Jeremy was chosen to play "Peter" in the P.J. Hogan version of Peter Pan. This was one of the most coveted roles in films for a teen actor in recent years. "It was a part that I really wanted," says Jeremy, "since I'd be able to fight pirates and fly around the stage on wires." Jeremy trained extensively in sword fighting and gymnastics prior to shooting the movie in Australia.
Clubhouse was Jeremy's first television series. "It was really a dream role since I've always loved baseball and played little league when I was younger.

jeremy sumpter1
Jeremy was cast in the role of Justin in Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life. “Justin was a good kid who got into a little trouble with his computer and got addicted to on-line pornography to the point where it almost ruins his life,” says Jeremy.

jeremy sumpter
After wrapping, he immediately went on to star in The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang in Oregon. A lot of the people from Napoleon Dynamite were involved in the film and it was a lot of fun for him to shoot.

Jeremy shot another film in Oregon called "Calvin Marshall." It should be released sometime in 2009.
